chalk board advent calendar......

I have this really big chalk board in my studio and tonight I came up with this
really easy and magical advent calendar.
Draw a Christmas tree with chalk and pin some little paper bags,
which I stamped 24  numbers on, to the board.
I had this metal star which I  pinned to the top.
Voila!

Making x mas garlands...

for making this garland you will need:
velum paper
scissors
hole punch
snowflake puncher
ribbon ( I used natural colored but you can use any color  you like)

start by cutting a strip about 3" of the sheet of velum and cut it into smaller pieces. these are all about 3"x1.5". I used 4-5 for each garland, but you can  use as many as you want. each sheet will give you about 24 tags.

next use the snowflake puncher to punch snowflakes in the lower part of the individual velum pieces.

then use the hole punch to punch 2 holes on the top part.
take the ribbon and run it through the holes on the top of the tags and that is it, voila!
a beautiful  and simple garland.  easy to make with the kid's.

bonus snowflake confetti :)

these are going to be in the holiday window display at The Herb Shoppe
in Portland. In addition, we are very exited to say, they will also travel to the Brooklyn Shoppe,
to be displayed in the window there.
